Studium Resort

Studium Resort is a side program of traveling art space Het Resort (Groningen). From 2023 to 2024, I worked as an artist talk moderator, and from 2024 to 2025, I served as the programmer of Studium Resort. Over the course of 2.5 years, I invited 10 artists from diverse cultural and disciplinary backgrounds to engage in dialogue, and as a programmer, I curated 10 events.

Studium Resort was my generous playground for building a sense of community and a hands-on approach to sharing knowledge and various artistic practices.  Every month, together with the invited artist and the audience, we tried something un-ordinary.

At the beginning of 2025, we pickled vegetables in salt brine, following Marina Sulima's recipe, tasted different earths collected by masharu -, learnt how to truly enjoy wine with Lena Longefay, distilled some chewed bread moonshine with Yemo Park, and had a full day of Nuclear Family Project (Mirthe Berentsen) and friends taking over. Then summer came, and with it, Louwrien Wijers and Egon Hanfstingl visited, bringing food for thought and our bellies. In autumn, we donated our urine to Arthur Guilleminot for the production of piss soap, counted our consumption in terms of artists' fees with Zoë Dankert, and talked about how cross-cultural pollination affects traditional cuisine with Benjamin Li, Sankrit Kulmanochawong, and Manique Hendricks. In December, as a little treat, we had a tasty art roast with Klaas Koetje.
