Co-Transpose

Co-Transpose is a project based in Dikaia, Greece—a rural town severely affected by depopulation due to its isolated location far from larger cities. Many houses and industrial buildings have been left abandoned, and former shops and other service businesses that went bankrupt have remained untouched, frozen in time. Co-Transpose aims to (re)use these empty spaces, foster collaboration, and co-create while building a sustainable relationship of exchange with the communities that support them.

I first joined Co-Transpose as an artist in residence during their 2023 summer residency program. Afterwards, I became part of the organising team, taking on the roles of communicator and co-curator for the 2024 summer residency. Over the course of a year, I helped Co-Transpose win the New European Bauhaus Prize 2024 for the project Co-llection, managed communications, and took part in selecting the artists for the summer residency program. During the residency itself, I was responsible for co-curating the Co-Transpose ’24 festival as well as overseeing the daily activities of the artists in residence.
